Process and decision making
Choosing a medium
My approach to creating custom portraits begins in the desire to help you choose a medium that reflects on the characteristics of the person/pet that will feature in the final piece. Together we will carefully select the medium that aligns with your expectations in order to create a beautiful portrait.
Capturing the subject
Each artwork I produce needs to be supported with a high quality picture that is clear and doesn't crop off any features. Bright natural light is also needed, ensuring colours are true to the subject. Photos and images will be sent from you to me via email. I will then contact you with more information if need be, making sure we choose the right photo.
Completing Artwork
Then, together we will decide on a deadline date for the completion of the art and the delivery/collection. Once I have finished a commission, or nearing completion, I will contact you asking if you would like any changes to the piece before the varnishing process begins. All art pieces will be varnished to ensure they last a long time. A set of artwork care will be included in the delivery as well.
